Science: We will be finishing our Soil unit this week and begin a new science unit on Rocks and Minerals.

Math: This week we are working on re-grouping and multiplication practice.  The students will be quizzing each other on math facts to better learn multiplication.

Reading and Vocabulary:  This week we have 6 new vocabulary words which are: rehearsal, pageant, restless, attentively, troublesome, and tropical.

Spelling:  We started the “Words Their Way” program this week.  Each student has an attached spelling list.

Please remember to have your students read 25 minutes a night or more and record the time on the reading calendars.  There are many students who have not yet returned the August reading calendar, which is worth 100 points towards their grade.  I appreciate the support I have had from many parents and the donations from the “Helping Hands”.  Also, Twila Rowe, Isabella’s mother, comes to our classroom once a week to teach an art lesson to the students.  She is very artistically talented and she had her first lesson last week that the students absolutely enjoyed!  We look forward to her upcoming lessons.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me.
