For some reason this time of year always seems so busy.  At school we begin to prepare for testing, the students typically have lots of extra curricular activities, and etc.  I have notice many of the students have not been reading at home as much as many of them typically do.  Your students have a book report due March 7th. This week, please read with you student and so they can finish this book and improve their reading skills.  Also, here comes THE BIG news, in the fourth grade, students are required to participate in the Science Fair or write a 300 word essay on a topic from the fourth grade science core curriculum.  See the attachment for Science Fair information

This Friday at 9:00am Tyler Albrecht, a local children’s dentist, is coming to present to the students.  He has a wonderful presentation, that is not your typical dental presentation, and the kids really seem to like it.  He uses a power point presentation with videos and pictures of different animals and tell the kids all about animal teeth.  For example... Why carnivores have sharp teeth and herbivores have flat teeth.  He talks about shark teeth and how they can produce 2000 teeth in their lifetime.  He tells which animals have the largest teeth, the most teeth, no teeth, and which animals use their teeth to walk.  He also shows videos from different zoos and how they take care of seals teeth, Rhino's teeth, etc. At the end, after he has their attention, he talks about our teeth and the importance of them and compare them to animals teeth. HE DOES NO ADVERTISING and is a service he provides to the fourth graders in the community since it is apart of our core curriculum.
