PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES THIS WEEK!

Homework-
For homework this week please complete the following:
·      Study spelling words (there is no assigned homework for this)
·      Blue reading page and answering questions
·      Math division sheet
·      Math multiplication sheet

Upcoming events:

o   October 10th- Red Ribbon Week begins.
o   October 3-7 – Parent-Teacher Conferences
Please remember school is dismissed at 2:30 each day including Wednesday.

Science: We are learning the different types of rocks, how they are formed and how to classify them.

Math: We are continuing to work on multiplication, addition and subtraction however, are main area we are focusing on this week is graphing.  

Reading and Vocabulary:  This week we are focusing on vocabulary and the writing process.  We are going to begin with brainstorming and the different types of graphic organizers we can use to categorize our thoughts and ideas.

Spelling:  Each week the students meet with their spelling groups on Monday for 45 minutes and on Friday for 15 minutes to take the spelling test.  Throughout the week we focus on spelling activities that help students understand word patterns, blends, vowels and consonants.

This year East Elementary is excited to have a high enrollment in Orchestra, 33 students.  We are currently looking for a volunteer that would help manage and teach such a large group of students.  Orchestra meets Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch each week.  If you are interested please contact Mr. Burton.
